Introduction - Sandeepani

I first heard of Sandeepani back in 2007 while I was working at Cypress Semiconductor Technology India Pvt. Ltd. I was responsible for 5 IP Blocks (USB, AES, CAN, I2C and LPC) and we were a team of 10 people, 5 Cypress employees and 5 contract employees. The 5 contract employees were from Tessolve. One of them, Vasanth, was this young boy who was smart and good at his work. I was very impressed with his verification and debug skills and I wondered where he had learnt those skills from. On enquiring about his background and education, he mentioned that he had learnt verification at Sandeepani, a VLSI and Embedded Systems training institute. My respect for this organisation that taught students hands-on skills at verification was established in my mind. Coming from an institute like BITS, Pilani, my fundamentals were strong, but I didn’t know a thing about ASIC design and verification. Everything I learnt, I learnt on the job. I learnt Verilog, Design, Verification, everything at Cypress. So I was mighty impressed that there was this organisation called “Sandeepani” which taught you skills that served you well in the industry.

Fast forward 7 years to the year 2014. I was looking for a teaching career and guess which institute came to my mind ? Sandeepani, of course !!

I sent in my resume’ and joined as the Technical team lead and it’s been an interesting two years to say the least.
